We are looking for an experienced Rolling Stock Engineer with exposure to Performance analytics/duties to take on the role of a Performance Engineer.
This exciting role will be working on brand new state of the art Locomotives, Some of the first of their kind in the UK in a new multi million pound fleet introduction and maintenance project.
The role is based out of the maintenance depot in Leicestershire.
This role has a salary of up to £59,000pa depending on experience, working Monday to Friday on Day shift.
The ideal individual will have Rolling stock experience already in a performance Engineering role or who is a Senior technician with good experience in report writing and analytics.
Your Tasks
- Provide engineering systems, processes, and procedures services to fulfil the business engineering assurance and performance growth requirements
- Support the business in ensuring the business provides Product & People Safety, Product Reliability, Product Availability
- Understanding and experience with system know-how and know-why and performance improvement techniques and process
- Ability to understand, review, revise and approve complex engineering designs, reports, recommendations, investigations etc
- Ensure high quality reporting in relation to in-service and other defects, both at system and component level, utilising analytical methods.
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to constructively participate with key stakeholders, including with internal functional areas of the business, as well as external agencies and Original Equipment Manufacturers & Suppliers
- Demonstrate a passion for continual improvement, people development, operational excellence and end user experience
- Deputise for the Head of Location when required
- Lead and represent business in client meetings
- Provide On-Call Support
- Contribute to project mobilisation from an engineering and systems setup perspective

Your Profile
Essential:
- NVQ/BTEC Level 3 in am engineering discipline, ideally HNC/HND or higher
- Knowledge of maintenance activities with a large multi-disciplined transport fleet.
- Proven record of achievement and experience in the Rolling Stock industry at a performance or senior technician level
- Knowledge and experience in conducting and leading complex engineering root cause investigations, report writing and analysis
- Knowledge of Locomotives is advantageous but not essential
- Management experience / supervisor experience is advantageous
- Understand diagrams
- Exposure to new fleet introduction would be an advantage
