TXM Recruit is currently looking for a Maintenance Operative to work for a rapidly expanding retail maintenance team on a long‑term cover situation; the role is likely to become permanent after 3 months.

Key Details

  • Location: North west London
  • Salary: £14.01 per hour
  • Hours: 6am to 3pm, Monday to Friday (flexible for childcare, etc.)
  • Contract length: 4 months (possibility of permanent)
  • Weekends: 1-in-4 weekend shift, with a 1.25× rate for Sunday
  • Overtime: 1.5× rate
  • Company van and tools & uniform provided

Responsibilities

  • General reactive maintenance in store from toilets, shop floor and communal areas.
  • Changing lightbulbs, replacing taps or toilet seats, hanging doors or fixing shelves, patch plaster, rendering, painting or minor carpentry and plumbing repairs.
  • Performing PPMs such as Legionella, Fire Alarm Testing and Sprinkler Testing (training will be provided).
  • Conducting building inspections, including roof walks and building checks.
  • Updating the tablet daily – reporting issues, H&S notes or sending emails; technology will be used in the form of a PDA tablet and a company‑provided smartphone.
