Contract Quality Management Systems Engineers – Aerospace & Defence Cambridge | Hybrid | Contract We are supporting a fast-growing defence technology organisation in Cambridge with the appointment of a number of experienced Quality Management Systems Engineers on a contract basis.

These are exciting opportunities for experienced Quality professionals who can come into a rapidly developing engineering and manufacturing environment, quickly understand the existing Quality Management System and help drive the improvements required to support ISO 9001 / EN 9100 compliance.

With several positions available, we are particularly interested in speaking with contractors who have strong backgrounds in Quality Systems, Internal Audit, AS/EN 9100, Continuous Improvement and regulated engineering environments.

  • The assignments Depending on your background and experience, responsibilities may include:
  • Developing, maintaining and improving an ISO 9001 / EN 9100 compliant Quality Management System
  • Reviewing existing QMS processes and identifying gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Supporting certification, surveillance and external audit readiness
  • Planning and conducting internal audits
  • Driving audit findings and corrective actions through to effective closure
  • Creating and improving quality procedures, processes and controlled documentation
  • Supporting Engineering and Manufacturing with quality planning and process development
  • Managing non-conformances, internal quality issues and customer complaints
  • Leading containment, root cause analysis and corrective action activity
  • Developing quality metrics and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain
  • Helping embed a practical and effective quality culture across a growing organisation What we're looking for We are keen to speak with experienced contractors who can hit the ground running and add value quickly.

You will ideally have

  • Strong experience within Quality Assurance, Quality Systems or Continuous Improvement
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS/EN 9100
  • Experience developing, implementing or improving a Quality Management System
  • Strong internal auditing experience
  • Experience within aerospace, defence, automotive or another regulated manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of regulated frameworks such as EASA Part 21 or equivalent
  • Experience managing non-conformance, CAPA and root cause investigations
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder man agement skills Particularly desirable experience
  • ISO / AS9100 Lead Auditor certification
  • AS9100 certification or recertification projects
  • FMEA
  • RCCA / 8D
  • CAPA
  • SPC
