Contract Pattern Maker Location: Silverstone Rate: Up to £35 per hour (Inside IR35) Contract: Initial 6-month contract (with potential extension) A leading motorsport organisation is looking for a highly skilled Pattern Maker to support an elite-level vehicle development programme. Based at their Silverstone facility, this role sits within a fast-paced composites and prototype environment, contributing directly to the build and refinement of high-performance components. Key Responsibilities Manufacture high-precision patterns used in composite tooling Interpret CAD drawings and design data to produce accurate physical models Work with materials such as model board, foam, resin, and tooling block Sanding, shaping, and finishing patterns to tight tolerances Collaborate closely with design, composites, and manufacturing teams Support ongoing build cycles and upgrade programmes under tight timelines What You’ll Need Proven experience in pattern making or model making within motorsport, automotive, aerospace, or similar high-end manufacturing Strong understanding of CAD interpretation and pattern finishing techniques Hands-on skills with manual tools and workshop machinery High attention to detail and ability to deliver under pressure Understanding of carbon fibre layup processes and composite tooling Comfortable working in a fast-paced development setting This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Pattern Maker to join a world-class engineering environment and contribute to performance-critical vehicle development.
