TXM are proud to be supporting a well-established UK manufacturer of high-reliability electro-mechanical and electrical systems in the appointment of a QSHE Engineer at their Normanton site. This is an excellent opportunity to join a safety-critical manufacturing environment supplying products into rail, aviation, defence, and industrial markets, where quality, safety, and environmental performance are business-critical.
The Role
As QSHE Engineer, you will play a key role in driving quality excellence, health & safety compliance, and environmental performance across site operations. You will support and improve integrated QSHE management systems while working closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to embed best practice across the full product lifecycle. This is a hands-on role with strong scope for influence, continuous improvement, and visibility across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality, Product & Process Assurance
- Inspect and test incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products
- Develop and maintain inspection plans, test criteria, and sampling strategies aligned to ISO 9001
- Support product and process verification against customer and regulatory requirements
- Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Support compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and environmental impact assessments
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions
- Promote a proactive safety and environmental culture across the site
- Continuous Improvement
- Analyse QSHE performance data including defects, incidents, and waste metrics
- Produce KPIs and dashboards to support decision-making
- Lead root cause investigations using tools such as 8D, FMEA, and SPC
- QSHE Systems & Audits
- Maintain and improve integrated management systems
- Conduct internal and supplier audits and manage corrective actions
- Support responses to customer quality and safety issues
- Supplier, Customer & Internal Collaboration
- Manage supplier PPAP submissions and quality compliance
- Support customer quality and warranty investigations
- Train and support shopfloor teams in QSHE processes and best practice
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate QSHE documentation including CAPAs, audits, risk assessments, and training records
- Provide clear QSHE performance updates to site leadership
What We're Looking For
- Essential Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar
- Experience in a Quality or QSHE Engineering role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001
- Experience with SPC, FMEA, PPAP, and 8D
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Desirable CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt, NEBOSH, or IOSH certification
- Experience in rail, aerospace, defence, or transportation
- ERP system exposure
- Electro-mechanical manufacturing background
