Modification / Flooring Technician
We are currently recruiting for dedicated Modification / Flooring Technicians to join our train facility in Doncaster. In this exciting role the successful candidate will undertake corrective and preventative maintenance, servicing and repair of rolling stock assets.
Deliverables
- Perform scheduled Modification / maintenance activities on the rolling stock in accordance with the vehicle modification and maintenance instructions.
- Undertake servicing and preparation of the rolling stock.
- Actively participate in the ongoing continuous improvement activities for Modification / Maintenance processes and maintenance procedures that support all depot and fleet activities.
- Major floor repairs IAW documents provided, working with timber and aluminium flooring. Ability to finish the job to a high standard is a must.
- Ensure exam tasks are being completed in a timely manner, undertake basic fault rectification or repair when required.
- Adherence to all health and safety processes and procedures.
- Undertake preventative and corrective maintenance as required.
- Support the Mods / Maintenance Team Leaders and Shift Production Managers in the delivery of the production plan.
- Record all work activities and stock consumption using the maintenance management system in accordance with maintenance processes and procedures.
- Working shifts to meet the service requirements (Currently permanent days but must be willing to work shifts if needed).
- Assist as required with any other responsibilities relevant to the role.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience of working in a rolling stock maintenance depot environment.
- Outstanding safety awareness gained in an operational railway engineering environment.
- Fault finding and repair techniques.
- Reading pneumatic, mechanical schematics and drawings.
Qualifications
- Served apprenticeship with mechanical, electrical disciplines.
- Engineering based NVQ level 3.
