TXM Recruit are currently looking to put a team of Test Technicians together on a contract basis for a rail client in Milton Keynes. The team will be performing test and commissioning on various fleets of rolling stock vehicles.

General Description: Skilled work within a safety critical role which demands a standard of competence necessitating either an apprenticeship to a trade or recognised training programme where an employee is required to be fully qualified in all parts of the trade and capable of producing work to the required standards, specification or finish expected of a Test Technician. To perform defined tasks to written instructions and to be able to work to their own initiative to enable the Depot to provide a quality service to the business. Carry out functional testing and commissioning of EMU/DMU and other rolling stock types of post works to a defined and written standard in line with UK rail safety regulations. Lead fault identification and rectification using recognised fault-finding techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as directed by your line manager
  • Read schematic drawings
  • With minimal supervision investigate rolling stock faults found within the test process
  • Assist the engineering process where necessary
  • Work within a high voltage environment
  • Download and process data from test equipment
