Position: Automation Assistant Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire Salary: £34,370 TXM Recruit is partnering with a prominent automation and intralogistics company to hire automation assistants for one of their existing sites in Milton Keynes. The role will involve supporting onsite maintenance engineers with basic troubleshooting on automated distribution equipment, learning both mechanical and electrical competencies. Shift Pattern: * Suez shift pattern ( 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off) * Work Hours: 6am – 6pm/6pm – 6am Key Responsibilities: * Support onsite maintenance engineers with basic troubleshooting of equipment both mechanically and electrically. * Start of shift checks ensuring equipment is fit for use. * Rectify time-out faults using the manual controllers (Pendant or HMI panel) * Learn how to maintain systems and complete basic jam busting on distribution equipment such as conveyors and automated storage and retrieval systems. * Follow safety procedures when working on and around the Automated Mechanical Handling Equipment, such as isolation of adjoining equipment, and following the "safe entry procedure" & use of correct PPE * Investigate the reasons and re-start the system after an emergency stop (non-technical errors). * Completion of dynamic risk assessments along with ensuring that onsite communication protocol is followed to ensure smooth operation of the facility. * Further communications to be translated via the shift handover, i.e. toolbox talks, meeting with Engineering colleagues, to enable the Automation assistant to relay any concerns and/or problems within the Automated Materials Handling equipment Skills and Qualifications Required: * Training in either mechanical or electrical engineering (L2) or currently working towards a L3 qualification. * Experience in a warehousing, engineering or automation environment would be advantageous Benefits: * Employer pension contributions of up to 6%. * Comprehensive private healthcare coverage, including optical, dental, and hearing benefits. * Life insurance for added financial security. * Health care cashback scheme, covering private medical excess costs. * Access to a benefits portal offering lifestyle discounts and training resources. * Employee assistance program for personal and professional support. * Ride-to-Work scheme to promote sustainable commuting. * Referral program with rewards for recommending new hires. * Employee of the Quarter awards to recognize outstanding contributions.
