TXM are currently recruiting for 4 x Raft Fitters based in Barton, Burton upon Trent on a contract basis. Do not wait to apply after reading this description; a high application volume is expected for this opportunity.
Location: Barton, Burton upon Trent
Hours: 44 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 7am – 5pm and Fri 7am – 1pm)
Hourly rate: £Competitive
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace.
- Ensure all Health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to.
- Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents by the end of that shift to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence.
- Ensure activities and associated actions and measures taken do not endanger but assist with the upkeep and maintaining the company’s ISO (9001, 14001 and 45001) standards and certification.
- To have a good understanding of vehicle mechanical interfaces and repairs of vehicle components.
- To be able to install / repair hydraulic systems.
- Previous engine knowledge would be advantageous.
- To overhaul raft components.
- To be able to understand schematic drawings.
- To undertake training as and when required.
- To work within a realistic timeframe.
- To mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.
- To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
- To adhere to written or verbal instructions.
Background & Experience:
- The ability to work within a changing environment with deadlines and short lead times.
- To adhere always to the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.
- Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities.
Qualifications/Education Required:
- Recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ Level 3.
- Previous experience in rolling stock / rail or automotive industry or HGV Technician / HGV fitters / Heavy Plant Fitters, who can repair HGV’s/Lorries and trucks.
