Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our clients team, focusing on reviewing and assuring MEP and HVAC design deliverables on behalf of our client, SCS. This role is centered on ensuring technical integration, compliance, and coordination between subcontractors’ designs and the main civil/structural works. The position requires a strong background in design assurance, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in tools like Navisworks and design documentation systems. Key Responsibilities: Design Review: Evaluate Design House Stage 4 documents for coordinated completeness, including spatial planning, accessibility, constructability, and maintainability. Code Compliance: Assess deliverables for adherence to codes and standards, identifying and communicating issues to the design team. Technical Liaison: Act as a conduit for technical communication between subcontractors and SCS to ensure seamless integration. 3D Model Review: Use Navisworks to review MEP services, identify clashes, and assess technical and constructability aspects of designs. Documentation Management: Operate within client documentation systems (EMT, Zutec, CEMAR) to manage submissions, maintain design risk registers, and produce reports. Coordination Meetings: Attend design review meetings with subcontractors, providing feedback and reporting to SCS. Change Request Assessment: Evaluate FCDs (change requests) and report findings effectively. Support Stage 5 Design Production: Assist the DIL and maintain the bracketry strategy during this phase. Subcontractor Communications: Review documents, respond to RFIs, and escalate issues as required.Requirements: Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer with a focus on MEP and HVAC systems. Proficiency in Navisworks for 3D model reviews and clash detection. Familiarity with design documentation systems (e.g., EMT, Zutec, CEMAR). Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and design coordination processes. Excellent organizational and communication skills to handle meetings, registers, and spreadsheets.
