Power Systems Consultant – Energy / Power Systems\\n \\nLocation: Manchester (hybrid – 2–3 days per week in the office) + UK & Europe travel\\n\\n Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus + benefits \\n\\n Employment Type: Permanent, full-time\\n\\n Hours: 37 per week (flexible)\\n\\n TXM Recruit are working in partnership with a global leader in energy technology and engineering to recruit a Power Systems Consultant to join their growing technical team.\\n\\n This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consultant or engineer to step into a high-impact role shaping the UK and European energy transition.\\n\\n The Opportunity: \\n\\nAs a Power Systems Consultant, you’ll take ownership of technical consulting projects across transmission, distribution, and generation networks. You’ll use your expertise in power system analysis, modelling, and software tools to provide practical solutions to clients, supporting the planning, operation, and optimisation of resilient energy systems.\\n\\n Your work will influence system performance, grid compliance, and the delivery of high-impact energy projects, while providing a platform to develop your career with a global leader in energy consulting.\\n\\n Key Responsibilities:\\nLead and deliver consulting engagements in power system modelling and analysis, including system dynamics, transients, interconnection, and grid code compliance.\\nDevelop and automate models and tools using Python (and occasionally FORTRAN) to support planning, operational analysis, and decision-making.\\nExpertly use industry-standard simulation software, including PSS®E, PSS®SINCAL, PSS®CAPE, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink.\\nPrepare clear, compelling proposals, project plans, and technical reports for clients.\\nSupport technical quality and continuous improvement across consulting outputs.\\nBuild and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for future engagements.\\nProvide mentoring and guidance to junior team members.Requirements: \\n\\nWe’re looking for a proactive, technically strong consultant with experience in power systems analysis and a passion for solving complex energy challenges.\\n\\n Essential:\\n\\nDegree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering.\\nProven experience in power systems consulting or engineering, with expertise across steady-state, dynamic, and transient studies.\\nProficiency with power system simulation software (PSS®E, PSS®SINCAL, PSS®CAPE, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink).\\nStrong programming skills in Python; FORTRAN experience desirable.\\nExperience with transmission planning, operational studies, and performance analysis including HVDC, FACTS, and renewable integration.\\nExcellent communication and client-facing skills.Desirable:\\n\\nKnowledge of CIM/CGMES standards or generator/inverter control systems.\\nExperience working with transmission/distribution operators, utilities, or energy developers.\\nAwareness of UK/Ireland regulatory frameworks and grid codes.Why Apply?\\nJoin a globally recognised energy consulting and engineering business at the forefront of the energy transition.\\nWork on high-impact projects that shape the future of resilient, sustainable energy systems.\\nBe part of a collaborative, technically excellent team with strong career development opportunities.\\nHybrid working arrangements with a competitive salary package (£55k–£80k + bonus + benefits).📩 How to Apply \\n\\nIf you’re a Power Systems Consultant, Power Systems Engineer, Transmission Planning Engineer, or Electrical Consultant ready to take on a rewarding role where your technical expertise drives tangible impact, we’d love to hear from you.\\n Apply today or contact (url removed) for a confidential discussion
