TXM Recruit is recruiting for a leading automation and intralogistics company seeking to hire skilled Maintenance Team Leads for their brand‑new distribution facility in Birmingham. In this position you will manage a team of maintenance engineers, ensuring all maintenance activities – both preventative and reactive – are completed in line with on‑site SLA’s while also supporting routine maintenance work as required. The ideal candidate will have experience in a high‑speed manufacturing/distribution environment with automated machinery and will have previously overseen teams of maintenance engineers.
Shift
Day: 6am – 6pm / Night: 6pm – 6am
Responsibilities
- Working with the team to carry out inspections, repairs and maintenance (corrective, preventive and predictive) on all equipment.
- Guiding, supporting and acting as a point of contact for the team.
- Coordinating the quality and progress of work with the customer.
- Identifying, signalling and communicating technical problems and equipment malfunctions.
- Proposing solutions and improvements to prevent issues and enhance equipment operation (continuous improvement).
- Ensuring a pleasant and safe working environment.
- Managing the CMMS and all maintenance allocation.
- Leading a small team while promoting positive customer relations.
- Tracking KPI performance.
Required Experience
- Experience as a maintenance engineer or supervisor.
- Experience supervising and supporting team work.
- Adequate English speaking and writing skills.
- Pro‑active, results‑oriented, flexible, team‑oriented and stress‑resistant.
- Communicative, motivational and recognised as a go‑between for customers and colleagues.
- Experience in high‑speed automated environments.
Skills and Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an electromechanical discipline.
- Experience with automated systems.
- Knowledge of WMS or WCS systems (beneficial).
- Pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge (beneficial).
- Computer‑literate with Microsoft Office.
