The Opportunity
As a Production Engineer, you'll play a key role in bringing complex components to life — from programming and proving out CNC processes to driving continuous improvement across production. This is a hands-on, technically challenging role where your expertise will directly impact quality, efficiency, and manufacturing capability.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop online & offline CNC programs from engineering drawings and 3D models
- Set, prove, and optimise programs across 3, 4 & 5-axis machining centres
- Create process plans, routings, and documentation within ERP systems (IFS)
- Design fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing solutions
- Analyse and improve existing machining methods
- Investigate production issues and implement root cause solutions
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and shop floor teams
- Produce 2D stage drawings and 3D models to support manufacture
- Drive continuous improvement and best practice across production
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering
- Strong CNC programming capability (multi-axis milling/turning)
- Experience with Mazak Integrex machines (highly desirable)
- Solid understanding of GD&T and tight tolerance machining
- Ability to work with a wide range of materials and treatments
- Experience with CAD/CAM systems (Mastercam advantageous)
- Knowledge of ERP systems (IFS preferred)
- Confident working independently and within a team
- Passion for engineering excellence and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Engineering qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent)
- Apprentice-trained (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
- Eligibility to work in the UK
