Do you have previous experience working in a rail operations, depot, sidings, or other safety-critical railway environment? If so, TXM Recruit are working in partnership with a high-profile railway client. They are looking for a Duty Depot Delivery Manager to join their team located in the East Midlands on a contract basis. This role is paying £21 per hour (circa £41,000 per annum).
The Duty Depot Delivery Managers manage the day-to-day delivery of the depot operations. You will manage the interface with all stakeholders such as train crew, drivers, third party contractors and ensure that the operations of the sidings are delivered safely. You will also be responsible for the safe movement of trains on and off the sidings and the development, maintenance and delivery of the associated operational procedures at the location.
Key responsibilities:- Leading and directing all Fleet and driver operations on and off the sidings.
- Ensure work is carried out to the agreed operational standards and that assigned tasks are progressing appropriately.
- Ensuring safe control of the movement of trains on and off the sidings and manage all associated issues with the appropriate parties.
- Being accountable for third party contractors; ensuring they are working safely, within operational standards for the site and meeting their required contractual service level agreements for cleaning and maintenance.
- Providing real time information to Control and the Depot Manager to ensure train performance KPIs are met as expected.
- Reporting and documenting any operational problems that occur, or are likely to arise and ensuring any necessary investigations and incident reports are completed.
- Acting as the Designated Person in charge of the site, including being the site point of contact for Network Rail and third-party contractors.
- Maintaining and updating the appropriate operational systems, KPIs and other activities as required by the Depot Manager.
- Ensuring cleaning staff, site maintenance staff and other contractors are using the correct PPE for the activity taking place.
- Delivering shift briefings to cleaning contractors staff and site maintenance staff relating to changes to safety procedures and changes to the rules and regulations, as required and directed.
- Carrying out inductions on the sidings for contractors or other parties as required.
- Maintaining site notice cases with the appropriate information including safety information, rosters, late notices, and any other required information.
What we require? You should have excellent organisation and interpersonal skills, and in this safety-critical role you must be able to:
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of current rules, regulations, siding operation instructions and safety instructions applicable to operations; previous knowledge would be beneficial; however, training is provided.
- Demonstrate supervisory training.
- Carry out risk assessments.
