We are seeking to recruit an experienced CNC Vertical Borer to join a high performing precision engineering and manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled machinist to work on large-scale precision components using advanced CNC vertical boring machinery within a well-established engineering environment.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for machining components to customer specifications while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Shift Pattern
Rotating fortnightly shifts:
- Days: 6:00am – 3:45pm
- Lates: 3:45pm – 1:30am
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC vertical boring machines, including Webster Bennett, Doosan VTS, and Hyundai
- Machine components from 600mm to 1500mm in diameter
- Set tooling and make programme edits as required
- Work from engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Carry out self-inspection using standard inspection equipment
- Perform basic machine maintenance (TPM)
- Raise PIRs as required
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles
- Safely handle components, fixtures, and tooling
- Work independently and report directly to supervisors
