TXM Recruit are currently recruiting for 8 x Rolling Stock Vehicle Preppers / Polishers on a long term contract.

Contract Details

  • Location: Crawley
  • Rate: £23.00 per hour
  • Status: Outside IR35
  • Shift: Monday to Friday – Evenings (11:00 – 20:00)
  • Duration: Long-term contract – May 2027
  • Start Date: Immediate Start

We are currently recruiting experienced Vehicle Prepper / Polishers from a body shop, accident repair, automotive, or similar background to join a long-term contract based in Crawley working on rolling stock and train carriages. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy train depot environment offering a competitive rate of £23.00 per hour (Outside IR35), working Monday to Friday on evening shifts from 11:00 to 20:00.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out high-quality machine polishing on train carriage paintwork
  • Remove surface imperfections including swirl marks, holograms, and light scratches
  • Prepare surfaces prior to polishing through cleaning, decontamination, and masking
  • Apply protective finishes including waxes, sealants, and ceramic coatings
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high cosmetic and safety standard
  • Follow all depot health and safety procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Polisher, Bodyshop Polisher, or similar role
  • Background within automotive, accident repair, rail, or commercial vehicle environments preferred
  • Ability to use machine polishing equipment confidently and safely
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Good understanding of health and safety responsibilities in a workshop or depot environment
  • All candidates will be required to carry out a medical and drugs & alcohol test
