We are seeking an experienced Estimating Engineer to join a busy precision engineering environment supporting customers across highly regulated industries. You will play a key role in securing profitable new business opportunities by managing enquiries at the RFQ stage, developing accurate quotations, identifying manufacturing solutions and supporting the successful introduction of new products into production. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong machining background who enjoys combining technical expertise with commercial awareness.
Working Hours: Monday Thursday: 7:30am 4:30pm, Friday: 8:00am 1:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate, competitive quotations within agreed timescales
- Support the generation of profitable new business opportunities
- Review engineering drawings and determine suitable methods of manufacture
- Calculate machining cycle times for CNC and manual machining processes
- Assess tooling, jigs and fixture requirements
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and develop strong working relationships
- Research and evaluate specialist treatment processes and their suitability for products
