Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and organised Transport Manager to join our team in Grays, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take ownership of daily transport operations within a fast-paced and supportive environment.
The Role
As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day coordination of our fleet and drivers, ensuring operations run safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with UK transport regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support drivers to ensure safe and timely deliveries
- Ensure compliance with Operator Licence regulations and Driver Hours legislation
- Monitor vehicle maintenance, servicing, MOTs, and inspections
- Control transport costs and identify operational improvements
- Resolve transport-related issues quickly and effectively
- Maintain accurate records including tachographs, fuel usage, and maintenance logs
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Transport Manager within haulage/logistics
- Strong understanding of UK transport legislation and compliance
- CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Road Haulage essential
- Excellent organisational skills
