The Opportunity
We’re working with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit a Control Systems Engineer to support and develop site automation. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping production running efficiently, while also leading improvement projects across control systems and automation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting and maintaining PLC and automation systems across site
- Fault finding and resolving electrical/control system issues
- Delivering automation and upgrade projects (CAPEX)
- Working closely with engineering, production, and external suppliers
- Driving continuous improvement across processes and systems
- Coaching and supporting teams to build automation capability
- Ensuring systems meet safety and compliance standards
- Managing documentation and system lifecycle improvements
- Supporting site when required for critical automation issues
What We’re Looking For:
- Background in automation/control systems within manufacturing
- Strong electrical and PLC fault-finding experience
- Experience with Siemens PLCs (essential)
- TIA Portal or other PLC platforms (Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron) beneficial
- Experience delivering projects and continuous improvement work
- Able to work both hands-on and as part of a wider team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
