We are currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Leader to join a major organisation delivering complex automation and installation projects within the UK airport environment.

This is a senior operational leadership position, responsible for overseeing construction and installation activities across major airport projects, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality delivery within live operational environments.

Airport Experience is Essential

Please do not apply if you do not have previous experience working on construction, installation or engineering projects within a live airport environment.

Candidates from general construction, manufacturing or other industries without airport experience will unfortunately not be considered for this position.

The Role

As Construction Leader, you will take operational responsibility for construction and installation delivery across multiple projects, acting as a senior representative on site and managing complex interfaces between contractors, subcontractors, engineering teams and airport stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading construction and installation activities across multiple projects.
  • Managing subcontractors and site resources.
  • Coordinating SIMOPS and complex work interfaces.
  • Supporting mobilisation, commissioning and handover.
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM 2015, RAMS, Permit-to-Work and airport requirements.
  • Driving health & safety, productivity and continuous improvement.
  • Working closely with Project Management, Engineering, HSEQ, Planning, Logistics and Procurement teams.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships across the airport environment.
  • Supporting programme reviews, KPI reporting and schedule recovery.

Qualifications

  • 5 - 10+ years' experience leading construction or installation teams.
  • Proven airport experience is essential.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience delivering complex brownfield projects.
  • Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and Principal Contractor responsibilities.
  • Strong health & safety knowledge.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within airport automation, baggage handling or complex installation environments is highly desirable.
  • P6 / Primavera experience would be advantageous.
