Position: Contract Composite Design Engineer Rate: Negotiable Title: Composite Design Engineer Location: Oxfordshire Length: 6+ month contract Shift: To Be Discussed About An opportunity has arisen to join the exciting world of Formula 1. This client is actively recruiting for a skilled Composite Design Engineer. The successful candidate will work with colleagues and related engineering functions within Vehicle Design to support the delivery of the most advanced, high-performance, and reliable designs within agreed timeframes, optimizing mass, stiffness, and design for manufacture. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership and responsibility for specific car components or assemblies that can deliver performance enhancements to the car. To be successful in this role, you will have a solid understanding of the delivery of engineering designs and drawings of composite components, laminates, and assemblies in accordance with defined standards and procedures. Essential Composite Expertise / Bias NX CAD User – Essential Teamcenter Experience F1 / Aerospace / Motorsport Experience Dutie Work collaboratively with Principal / Senior Engineers and Program Managers to define deliverables and project scope, ensuring all requirements are met. Proactively address faults, manufacturing queries/feedback, NCRs, and other related departmental tasks Take ownership of key aspects of the Vehicle Design Vision, Goals, and Strategy to create a best-in-industry, high-performance design team Act as the technical authority for their project (if requested) when the Principal / Senior Engineers are not present Deputize for Senior Engineers, if requested, and report back to peers and project groups (Faults, Design Reviews, etc.) Demonstrate a track record of advanced and reliable design solutions with supporting calculations and unambiguous engineering drawings. Ideal Candidate Can communicate effectively with other engineers, both written and verbal, while supporting the wider organization, including Manufacturing, Quality, Prototype and Test, Trackside, etc. Holds a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Marine, or another related engineering discipline. Has a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry. Enjoys problem-solving, thinking critically, and working collaboratively.
