We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Grinding Technician to join a world-class aerospace manufacturing business based in Tewkesbury. This is a permanent night shift opportunity within a high-performing precision machining cell, producing complex components to extremely tight tolerances for the commercial aircraft sector. If you are a skilled CNC grinder who takes pride in quality, precision, and continuous improvement, this is an excellent long-term opportunity. Training will be completed on day or AM shifts during your probation period before transitioning permanently to nights.
The Role
As a CNC Grinding Technician, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC grinding machines to manufacture high-precision aerospace components. You will play a key role in ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC grinding machines
- Manufacture complex components to tight tolerances
- Conduct in-process and final inspection using manual and automated metrology equipment
- Perform self-inspection and complete quality documentation
- Interpret engineering drawings and inspection plans (metric & imperial)
- Apply GD&T principles in daily operations
- Contribute to daily problem-solving and process improvements
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives including 5S
- Carry out basic preventative maintenance in line with company standards
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled CNC professional with strong grinding experience and a meticulous approach to quality.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Significant experience setting and running CNC grinding machines
- Completed a recognised machining apprenticeship (or equivalent qualification)
- Experience working to extremely tight tolerances
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
- Proficient with a range of metrology equipment
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset
- Positive attitude toward lean manufacturing practices
Experience within aerospace or another regulated industry would be advantageous.
