TXM Recruit are supporting a leading engineering organisation in the search for an experienced Fleet Engineer to join their team based in Derby. This is a key position within the engineering function, responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a national fleet of traction and rolling stock.
Purpose of the Role
- Support, manage, and deliver testing, commissioning, overhaul, and in-service reliability of a UK fleet of traction and rolling stock.
- Ensure that all assets are maintained to the highest safety, availability, and performance standards.
- Provide technical support, lead incident resolution, and liaise with customers, suppliers, and industry partners to maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical contact for all matters relating to the traction and rolling stock fleet.
- Oversee and coordinate maintenance planning, service delivery, and supplier performance.
- Manage spare parts, tooling, and materials in collaboration with the procurement function.
- Lead technical investigations, fault analysis, and incident management to ensure timely resolution.
- Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation, configuration records, and asset management systems.
- Analyse performance and reliability data to drive continuous improvement.
