A leading automated distribution operation is looking for a skilled Multi-Skilled Automation Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team at a highly automated site in Chelmsford. This is a great opportunity to work with state-of-the-art automation equipment in a fast-paced environment, supporting critical operations and continuous improvement projects.

  • Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on automated equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability projects
  • Work closely with engineering and operational teams to minimise downtime
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and fault reports
  • Support site performance through proactive engineering solutions

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 / ONC or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working on automated machinery or production equipment
  • PLC fault-finding experience preferred
  • Full UK driving licence

Shift Pattern:

  • This role operates across early, late and night shifts on a rotating basis, including occasional weekend cover and overtime.
  • Night shift allowance
