Experienced Mig Welder looking for a new role? Have experience in the Automotive field or similar? Want to work only 4 days a week! We require a Mig Welder/Fabricator on a permanent basis to work for an Automotive engineering company in the Oxfordshire Area. The role has a basic salary of £42,500 pa for a shift of Monday to Thursday 0700 - 1700, Only 4 days a week!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and operate MIG welding machines and efficiently process metal components onto jigs.
  • Weld sub assemblies; weld chassis modules and weld chassis to required quality standards.
  • Fabricate and weld production parts.
  • Identify parts/weldments; jigs and fixture types to enable completion of the welding process of all metal assemblies to the required standards.
  • Produce components to Quality standard and produce parts on time.
  • Carry out the operator maintenance requirements for the machine and the tooling.
  • Read and understand engineering weldment drawings.
  • Work with jigs, fixtures and hand built fabrications to high standard of accuracy.
  • Fabricate complex metal assemblies using engineering drawings.
  • Produce vertical and overhead welds to Quality standard required.

ROLE CRITERIA

  • Time served welder and ability to obtain Coded welding certificate in MIG welding OR 2 years experience in MIG welding and ability to obtain coded welding certificate in MIG Welding.
  • 1 years experience as a metal fabricator within an engineering environment.
  • Working knowledge of welding machine settings, gas flows and amperage usage on various materials.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to undertake or provide training as required.
  • An awareness of general Health and Safety rules.
