Are you an experienced Robot & Automation Engineer looking for a varied role where you can be involved in projects from initial concept right through to final commissioning? This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist engineering business delivering automated assembly solutions across the automotive and wider industrial sectors.
Working as part of a small team of highly skilled engineers, you’ll play a key role in the development, programming and commissioning of automated systems.
The Role
- Developing initial concepts and carrying out offline robot simulations
- Supporting technical specifications and equipment sourcing
- Developing automated systems and simulated layouts
- Robot programming and initial hardware set-up
- Hands-on system building, programming and integration
- Commissioning automated systems at customer sites
- Supporting final system integration and customer handover
- Working with associated equipment including weld guns, weld timers, MIG welding equipment, sealant and gluing equipment, cameras and vision systems
- Working closely with the wider engineering team to deliver projects from concept through to completion
Requirements
- Previous hands-on experience with industrial robot programming
- Experience with upfront EIO programming and robot set-up
- Experience with offline robot programming and simulation
- Experience setting up and integrating associated automation hardware
- Previous experience with ABB or FANUC robots
- Ability to work across both upfront design/simulation and hands-on programming and commissioning
- Strong problem-solving and technical ability
Desirable
- Experience with KUKA or Yaskawa robots
- Experience with PLC systems or PLC programming
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal
- Experience using robot simulation software to develop offline programs and simulated layouts
