An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Technician (Cable & Harness) to join the Production Operations team at the Ampthill site. This role is ideal for a skilled, detail-focused technician with experience in cable and harness manufacture, working on high-value, safety-critical hardware. You will work closely with engineering teams, following detailed drawings and engineering instructions, and applying a methodical and precise approach to production tasks. Ongoing training, support, and access to flexible benefits are provided.
Key Responsibilities:- Manufacture electrical cables and wiring harnesses in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Safely and competently use hand tools, crimp tools, jigs, fixtures, and precision measuring equipment.
- Perform high-accuracy hand soldering to required quality standards.
- Work closely with engineering support teams to resolve technical or production issues.
- Apply a methodical, problem-solving approach to ensure successful completion of production tasks.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in line with 5S methodology.
- Adhere to strict health, safety, and ESD control requirements.
- IPC-620 certification, or experience working to IPC/J-Standards 610 will still be considered with ongoing training and support.
- Proven experience in cable and harness manufacturing within a medium-volume production environment.
- Ability to work confidently from engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Strong understanding of ESD controls.
- Experience using crimp tools and carrying out high-accuracy hand soldering.
- Strong attention to detail with a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
- Background in aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- 4-day working week (Monday-Thursday).
