Pay Rate: £17.21 per hour + (21% Shift Premium)

Location: Hinckley

Pattern: Rotating Fortnightly | 4-Day Week | 37 Hrs

About the Role: We are seeking to recruit an experienced CNC Vertical Borer to join a high performing precision engineering and manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled machinist to work on large-scale precision components using advanced CNC vertical boring machinery within a well-established engineering environment. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for machining components to customer specifications while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Shift Pattern: Rotating fortnightly shifts:

  • Days: 6:00am - 3:45pm
  • Lates: 3:45pm - 1:30am

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC vertical boring machines, including Webster Bennett, Doosan VTS, and Hyundai
  • Machine components from 600mm to 1500mm in diameter
  • Set tooling and make programme edits as required
  • Work from engineering drawings and customer specifications
  • Carry out self-inspection using standard inspection equipment
  • Perform basic machine maintenance (TPM)
  • Raise PIRs as required
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles
  • Safely handle components, fixtures, and tooling
  • Work independently and report directly to supervisors

What We're Looking For:

  • Ideally apprentice trained
  • Minimum 5 years experience in CNC Vertical Boring
  • Experience using Fanuc and/or Siemens control systems
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
