An exciting opportunity has come about to join the exciting world of motorsport in Formula 1. This client is looking to grow their team in the coming year and seeking Aerodynamic Software Engineers to support this. The purpose of the role is to work within a group of software engineers to develop new and existing applications and tools, to support the complete aerodynamic development process, including wind tunnel testing, CFD, correlation and design.

Main Duties

Develop and create the latest generation of aerodynamic analysis tools.

Work closely with aerodynamic engineers to improve the ease of understanding complex data.

Apply experience and knowledge to help set future directions and trends in data analysis and data visualisation.

Define the user interface in terms of presentation and interaction with the data from a wide range of engineering data sources.

Produce high performance and well-designed data access tools and APIs to be used by other existing systems.

Complete design, code, test, release, and maintenance of data analysis applications.

A degree in a relevant discipline (Computer Science or Mathematics) or similar.

Has a minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry.

Good knowledge of software architecture and patterns.

Excellent programming skills, ideally with Python, MATLAB, C++, C#, and be able to write clean and testable code with an emphasis on maintainability.

Knowledge with other technologies such as SQL servers.

Experience with data organisation and repository creation using appropriate database and file architecture.

Experience in the development and deployment of Al and Machine Learning based systems.

Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors .

Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors.

Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
