Are you an experienced Shift Engineer looking to join a busy and professional engineering team? We are seeking a skilled and reliable engineer to support the maintenance, safety, and performance of our vehicle fleet in Harlow, helping keep services operating safely and efficiently every day.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with PSV or HGV engineering experience who enjoys working in a fast‑paced workshop environment and takes pride in delivering high standards of maintenance and repair.

Shift Pattern

Operating hours include:

  • Monday – Friday: 05:30 – 22:00
  • Saturday: 06:00 – 22:00
  • Sunday: 14:00 – 22:00

(Shift coverage will fall within these hours)

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily vehicle inspections and identify any defects or safety concerns
  • Attend roadside breakdowns and complete fault diagnosis and minor repairs
  • Support planned servicing and reactive maintenance within the workshop
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed to company, legal, and safety standards
  • Accurately complete inspection reports, service sheets, and maintenance records
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to maintain fleet reliability and minimise downtime

What We’re Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in PSV or HGV Engineering
  • Previous time-served engineering experience within a transport or fleet environment
  • Strong mechanical and fault‑finding skills
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety standards and engineering compliance
  • Ability to work independently and follow technical procedures confidently
  • Flexible and reliable approach to shift work, including weekends
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
