This role is suitable for ECT applicants and those currently training to teach. We offer salaries on the Inner London pay scale.
Ealing Fields is a small, academically ambitious school where every student is known by name. With just 165 students per year group, a brand-new building in Northfields, and a Progress 8 score of +1.34, we combine the feel of a close‑knit community with outcomes that place us consistently in the top 1% of schools nationally for student progress.
We are looking for a Geography teacher who shares our belief that every student, regardless of background or starting point, can succeed in and enjoy Geography. You will join a collaborative, high‑performing department that is committed to excellence in Geography teaching and learning. Our teaching is rooted in a mastery approach: we prioritise deep conceptual understanding, make deliberate use of representation and variation, and maintain high expectations for all learners.
Teachers across the Twyford Trust, the highest performing multi‑academy trust in the country by progress, work together to develop and refine best practice, supported by a carefully sequenced shared curriculum, high‑quality lesson resources, and a robust assessment structure. These are designed to support consistently strong teaching while giving you the space to develop your own practice and bring your own ideas.
Professional development is central to our offer. You will benefit from weekly training sessions, one‑to‑one coaching, and the wider opportunities available through Teach West London, the trust's Teaching School Hub. As part of a growing trust with four schools, there are genuine and well‑established pathways for career progression.
The core purpose of this role is to secure outstanding progress in every class you teach while also delivering excellent pastoral care, both in your Geography lessons and as a form tutor. Our teachers are deeply involved in school life and work together to promote the school's ethos and vision, including through the house system and wider enrichment beyond the classroom.
Ealing Fields is easily accessible by public transport, with the Piccadilly line a short walk away and regular buses to Ealing Broadway (Central, District, and Elizabeth lines).
We Offer:
- Exceptional professional development and career progression
- Positive working relationships at all levels
- A supportive Leadership Team
- A full‑range of Trust services providing support and development
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status
- Ability to teach Geography to at least KS4
- Knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum
- An understanding of recent curriculum / learning developments
- An understanding of the strategies required to motivate and enthuse all students across the ability range as part of a whole school approach to raising achievement
- An understanding of the processes and techniques required to assess, record and report students’ learning effectively
- Ability to be reflective and driven towards self‑improvement
- A commitment to the ethos of the school
The school reserves the right to research shortlisted candidates on social media platforms and the internet, and the recruitment panel may take this information into consideration during the recruitment process. The Twyford Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undergo the child protection screening appropriate to the post, including an enhanced disclosure from the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and references from previous employers. The post-holder will also be expected to read and adhere to the Trust’s Child Protection Policy, and any other Safeguarding documents stated within this.
The Twyford Church of England Academy Trust is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic (GMH/UKME) and disabled people are currently under‑represented among our staff, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation.
