This is an exciting opportunity to join our conservation charity as Site Biodiversity Manager. This role will lead delivery of the Biodiversity Action Plan, including creating and enhancing habitats across the zoo site, and expanding the existing nature reserve.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering habitat creation and restoration
  • Coordinating biodiversity monitoring and ecological surveys
  • Managing species recovery projects
  • Providing ecological advice across the organisation
  • Collaborating with staff, volunteers, and external partners
  • Supporting conservation education and engagement
  • Identifying and securing funding to support conservation initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Degree in ecology or a related field (postgraduate desirable)
  • Experience in habitat management and delivering biodiversity projects or action plans
  • Strong project management, communication, and data analysis skills
  • Experience with GIS or habitat mapping
  • Holding relevant protected species licenses (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence
