About the Role: As the Senior Health and Safety Advisor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring safety compliance across all aspects of the civil engineering projects. This role requires someone with hands-on experience in construction or civil engineering, capable of understanding and addressing the specific health and safety needs of this field. Candidates who are lodging away are encouraged to apply. Generous accommodation will be provided for candidates staying away from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on-site to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Provide proactive guidance and support to site teams on all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) matters
  • Develop and deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and other training programs
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents to determine root causes and implement preventative measures
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and review of health and safety policies and risk assessments
  • Liaise with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture across the project

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Diploma level or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety (essential)
  • Knowledge and understanding of civil engineering or construction practices
  • Experience in a similar role within the civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure industry
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and educate on-site teams
