Are you an experienced and qualified Finance professional looking for a standalone role where you can take full ownership of the finance function? My client, a successful and growing SME is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to join their team in Poole.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a real impact. You’ll be the go-to person for all things finance, working closely with the leadership team and external accountant to support the company’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Running the finance function end to end
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations using Xero
• Produce monthly management accounts and cashflow forecasts
• Prepare and issue client quotations
• Raise accurate invoices and manage billing cycles
• Run payroll and ensure PAYE compliance
• Manage the finance inbox and respond to queries
• Handle subcontractor payments and resolve related queries
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers
• Carry out bookkeeping duties for the business
• Complete VAT returns and submissions
• Liaise with the external accountant
