Despatch Assistant

Full Time - Permanent - £30,000

We’re recruiting for a Despatch Assistant to join a well-established and growing engineering business.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in organisation and accuracy, and wants to build a long-term career within manufacturing or logistics. Previous despatch experience is helpful, but not essential as full training will be given .

The Role

You’ll support the smooth running of the despatch function, ensuring parts are processed, packed and moved efficiently between suppliers and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing parts requiring external treatment or subcontract work
  • Raising purchase orders using internal systems
  • Packing parts carefully to specification for dispatch
  • Booking couriers and arranging transport
  • Maintaining accurate records and paperwork
  • Supporting goods-out activities and customer orders
  • Working closely with the department manager to manage priorities
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work area
What We’re Looking For

We’d welcome applications from candidates with experience in:

Despatch, Goods Out, Warehouse, Stores, Logistics, Manufacturing or Production

You’ll ideally have:

  • Strong organisation skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer skills including Outlook and Excel
  • A reliable, proactive and positive attitude
