We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering manufacturer based in Poole, who designs and supports specialist industrial equipment used by customers across a variety of industries.
Due to continued growth, they’re looking for a
Junior Field Service Engineer to join their friendly and experienced team.
Importantly, you don’t need to have previous field service experience .
The company is open to engineers who are at the beginning of their career and have the right mechanical, electrical or electro-mechanical foundation, attitude and willingness to learn.
Full product and technical training will be provided.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll split your time between customer sites and the company’s workshop, servicing, repairing, calibrating and installing specialist equipment.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will
- Service, fault find, diagnose and repair specialist industrial equipment.
- Carry out calibration, testing and commissioning at customer sites and within the workshop.
- Install new equipment and provide technical support to customers where required.
- Complete service reports and associated documentation.
- Work safely and in line with company quality standards.
- Travel throughout the UK, with occasional international travel.
About You
This opportunity could suit someone who is newly qualified or relatively early in their engineering career , as well as engineers with more established experience.
We’d be interested in hearing from people with
- A recently completed Engineering Apprenticeship.
- 1–2 years’ experience in an engineering environment.
- Mechanical, electrical or electro-mechanical experience.
- Manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience working with machinery, equipment or mechanical/electrical systems.
- A practical, hands-on approach and an interest in fault finding and problem solving.
- You don’t need previous experience working as a Field Service Engineer
— what’s important is that you have a good engineering foundation, a willingness to learn and the confidence to develop into a customer-facing role.
A full UK driving licence is required.
