As the ideal candidate, your ability to connect with young adults and care leavers will help them build trust, resilience, and a sense of possibility for their future. You’ll understand safeguarding, work proactively within our policies, and contribute to a strong, collaborative team environment.
Our Homeless Support Worker roles are support‑based, focused on guidance, encouragement, and empowering clients to achieve their goals. The work can be challenging, but also truly rewarding - made even more so by the supportive, values‑driven team you’ll be part of.
Homeless Support Worker Essentials:- A genuine interest and concern for homelessness and related issues
- Ability to positively contribute to a team
- Deal promptly and effectively with challenging situations/crises in a calm manner
- Strong communication skills, clear verbal and written English
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Confident with Lone Working
- Experience of managing a caseload of clients
- Understanding of risk assessment and person-centred, outcomes-based delivery
- Awareness of the support needs of people experiencing homelessness or those with complex needs
- Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies, housing regulations and the benefits system
