Community Support Worker £23,775 – £25,027 Fareham Permanent, Full Time Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role where you are able to empower people every day to develop their skills and move towards independence? Do you enjoy working in an environment where every day is different to the next? Then this could be the role for you. We have an opportunity for a Community Support Worker to support our homeless clients and identify their needs, through active listening and working with each individual on a one-to-one basis. In this varied role, no two days will be the same, as you provide advice on housing, welfare benefits, rent deposits and household goods, liaising with housing providers to prevent homelessness and assisting with the practicalities of moving to new accommodation. You’ll be on-hand to be a key contact for your clients when they are experiencing difficulties and encourage the development of skills such as budgeting and cooking to help them take control of their lives. You will work with colleges, training agencies and employers to help the client have access to training, education, employment or to maintain their benefit entitlement About you We are looking for an empathetic, and supportive individual with an interest and genuine passion for wanting to work with vulnerable people in the homeless sector. You will have clear verbal and written English skills along with experience working in a client/customer facing role. Above all, you will be committed to making a positive impact in someone’s life and making changes to the community. Previous experience in this type of work is not essential, as full training will be provided, but your values will match ours; you will be committed to helping others and enjoy the real job satisfaction that this brings.
