In this role, you’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure our applications are reliable, performant, and built to the highest standards. As a Lead QA Engineer, you won’t just test features. You’ll contribute to requirements refinement, design effective test strategies, identify risks early, and advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle. From exploratory testing to automated test coverage, you’ll play a key role in building confidence in every release. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and takes pride in preventing issues before they reach users. If you’re curious, analytical, and motivated by continuous improvement, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with peers and engage with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Delivery as part of cross‑functional teams.
  • Advocate for the utilisation of a quality‑first mindset throughout the development process.
  • Embed quality into our processes, utilising relevant techniques and heuristics where required to ensure effective testing and feedback loops.
  • Be hands‑on, working with engineers to test and measure quality as products are being built.
  • Hybrid role: expected to be in the office at least 2 days a week, with occasional travel to other offices where required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years within the quality engineering space.
  • Proven experience leading and coaching junior engineers in quality and embedding it into teams.
  • Strong desire to continually improve, with an innate curiosity and an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to proactively seek out and raise risks with relevant team members and leadership, working with them to resolve issues.
  • Strong understanding of testing techniques, heuristics, and processes, and how/when they are implemented during development.
  • Strong understanding of test automation, its benefits, and how it should be implemented, along with knowledge of pitfalls.
  • Ability to prove implementation of frameworks and development standards for green‑field projects.
  • You have had exposure to applications built with any of the following: JavaScript/TypeScript + Next/NestJS.
  • Testing frameworks such as: Appium, Playwright, Supertest, K6/Artillery/JMeter.
