At Enable Trust, we're passionate about achieving the very best outcomes for children and young people.
We know that great learning environments don't happen by chance.
They are created by dedicated people who take pride in their work and care about the communities they serve.
We're looking for a Caretaker to join our team.
You'll play an important role in helping to ensure our school remains safe, secure, clean and well-presented, providing an environment where pupils, staff and visitors feel welcome and supported.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.
From carrying out routine maintenance and site inspections to supporting health and safety and responding to the day-to-day needs of the school, you'll be a valued member of the team whose work has a direct impact on the experience of everyone who uses the site.

- Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs and site improvements.
- Undertaking regular health and safety checks and reporting or addressing issues as appropriate.
- Opening and securing the site, buildings and facilities in line with operational requirements.
- Supporting contractors and monitoring works carried out on site.
- Assisting with site security, emergency procedures and compliance requirements.
- Maintaining external areas, grounds and outdoor spaces to a high standard.
- Supporting the preparation of rooms and facilities for school activities and events.
- Taking pride in the appearance, cleanliness and overall presentation of the site.
- Who we’re looking for
- Practical and hands‑on, with experience in maintenance, caretaking, facilities or a similar role.
- Reliable and self‑motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Committed to maintaining high standards and taking pride in a job well done.
- Able to identify problems, find solutions and respond positively to unexpected situations.
- Organised and safety‑conscious, with a good understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
- Friendly and approachable, with excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Flexible and willing to support the wider needs of the school community.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
