In this role, you will set the strategy and oversee execution of policy advocacy communications across EMEA. You will craft clear, accurate narratives, coordinate with reputable third parties and industry associations, and counsel senior leaders. You’ll manage a regional team and agency partners, and work closely with colleagues globally to ensure alignment and results.
Job Responsibilities- Set and lead the EMEA policy communications strategy aligned to EU and UK priorities.
- Partner with Government Relations and business leaders to craft clear, accurate narratives.
- Develop and execute advocacy communications campaigns on legislative and regulatory proposals.
- Build and maintain relationships with financial policy journalists and opinion shapers to secure high‑impact coverage.
- Coordinate with industry associations and third‑party experts to advance shared positions.
- Create and edit compelling content (briefings, press materials, op‑eds, fact sheets, digital content).
- Advise senior executives on messaging, issues, and opportunities; prepare spokespeople as needed.
- Ensure accuracy, risk awareness, and compliance in all materials; uphold editorial standards.
- Track regulatory and political developments across EMEA and translate insights into communications plans.
- Measure outcomes using clear KPIs and reporting; optimize based on data and feedback.
- Lead, coach, and develop a regional team; manage external agencies and budgets.
- Significant experience in EMEA policy communications, advocacy campaigns and/or public affairs with deep understanding of EMEA policy, regulatory and political landscapes.
- Established relationships with EMEA financial policy journalists and key stakeholders; demonstrated record of securing high‑impact coverage and shaping narratives.
- Proven experience developing and implementing successful advocacy communications for policy, legislative, and regulatory proposals.
- Exceptional writing and editorial judgment; ability to synthesize complex regulatory topics into clear, compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and people leadership skills with experience in large, matrixed organizations; trusted advisor to senior executives.
- Excellent organizational skills; adept at prioritizing high‑volume, high‑urgency initiatives.
- Financial services expertise and familiarity with key EMEA financial regulatory frameworks and themes.
- Proficiency in one or more additional European languages (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Italian).
- Experience collaborating with trade associations or industry coalitions and counterparts at other firms to develop consensus positions and advocacy strategies.
- Experience managing external agencies and budgets.
