The Java Software Engineer Role
You'll be involved in everything from understanding requirements and designing solutions to coding, testing, deployment and ongoing support. We're looking for more than someone who can write code—you'll bring curiosity, strong problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in understanding the challenges behind the technology.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing, developing and maintaining high-quality Java software.
Investigating technologies and identifying effective technical solutions.
Writing and maintaining unit, acceptance and performance tests.
Supporting deployment pipelines and working closely with DevOps specialists.
Troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing third-line support.
Participating in code reviews, pair programming, planning and estimation.
Working collaboratively within an agile team to deliver reliable, maintainable software.
What We're Looking For
You'll have strong Java development experience, an agile mindset and a passion for solving complex technical problems.
Key skills and experience:
Java development, ideally using Spring Boot.
Agile practices, including TDD, BDD, continuous delivery, DevOps and pair programming.
Experience with AWS services, including S3, Fargate, Lambda, SQS and SNS.
