About the role: TwinStream is a dynamic and growing company delivering innovative solutions in secure, cloud-native environments. We are currently seeking a Facilities Manager for our Bristol office, who can also support—or upskill into—the role of Security Controller. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to manage the day-to-day operations of a busy office while also playing a key role in supporting the organisation's security practices in line with government standards. Ideal for someone highly organised, proactive, and adaptable, this is a hands-on position that offers real responsibility across both operational and security-focused areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Office Management
    • Manage daily operations of the Aztec West office, ensuring a professional, efficient environment.
    • Serve as the first point of contact for site-related matters (facilities, suppliers, building management).
    • Support onboarding/offboarding for staff and associates, including access control, equipment, and workspace setup.
    • Manage office supplies, logistics, utilities, meeting rooms, reception/visitors and post/couriers.
    • Coordinate in-office events and simple travel arrangements.
    • Liaise with the landlord in line with the lease; track issues and resolutions.
  • Health & Safety
    • Act as H&S coordinator, maintaining H&S policies, risk assessments (incl. DSE), training matrix, accident/near-miss log and actions.
    • Lead routine checks (fire alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting), inductions and drills.
    • Contractor management and permits to work; small works under CDM (as applicable).
    • Manage statutory compliance (e.g., electrical safety, water hygiene, fire extinguishers).
    • Ensure first aid and fire warden coverage; coordinate PPE/ergonomics.
  • Security Controller (FSC)
    • Oversee physical security measures, including access control and secure handling of sensitive materials.
    • Manage & coordinate maintenance/servicing of CCTV, Intruder Detection Systems, and Access Control Systems with service providers.
    • Be accountable for the site risk profile and risk assessments within the security remit.
    • Ensure compliance with Government Protective Security standards; maintain evidence and records.
    • Deliver/coordinate regular security awareness training relevant to the building.
    • Conduct audits and maintain appropriate records to support compliance and assurance.
    • Monitor changes in government/MOD security policy and advise the business.
    • Engage with local Counter Terrorism Security Advisors (CTSA) and relevant local security groups.
    • Coordinate FSC documentation and audits; maintain training/awareness records.
    • Assist with FSC/IPSA submissions and periodic reviews.
  • Supplier & budget management
    • Own supplier relationships and contracts (cleaning, M&E, security, utilities, consumables).
    • Raise POs, track spend vs. budget, approve invoices; drive savings without reducing service.
    • Manage minor facilities projects and snagging.
  • IT/asset coordination (with IT)
    • JML (joiners/movers/leavers) for desks, access, lockers, and equipment handout/returns.
    • Maintain asset lists (monitors, docks, chairs) and warranty/repair tracking.
  • Security clearance (DV)
