We’re looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join a growing technology business of more than 100 people across the UK. You’ll play a key role in designing, building and maintaining resilient systems that support critical operations, while helping shape the technology and practices that underpin them. You’ll initially work fully remotely, with the potential to move to a hybrid arrangement in Cheltenham in the future. Subject to eligibility, you’ll also have the opportunity to progress through security clearance, potentially up to DV level. You’ll be joining a collaborative environment where learning, development and continuous improvement are actively encouraged. Your Role As a Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll work across the full infrastructure stack — from bare-metal systems and physical infrastructure through to virtualised environments and the applications running on them. Your responsibilities will include: Designing, building and maintaining reliable, scalable physical and virtual infrastructure Monitoring system performance and proactively identifying and resolving issues Automating processes using tools such as Ansible Working with infrastructure as code and configuration management Supporting CI/CD and wider automation practices Implementing and improving monitoring, logging and alerting Collaborating with engineers, stakeholders and wider teams Identifying opportunities to improve system performance, reliability and efficiency Contributing to the continuous improvement of tools, systems and engineering practices What are we looking for? You don’t need to tick every single box. If you have strong experience across most of the following, we’d love to hear from you: Experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps or a similar infrastructure-focused role Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation Understanding of monitoring, logging and alerting technologies A methodical, collaborative approach to problem-solving A genuine interest in building reliable, secure and scalable systems The Package £75,000 – £95,000 salary, depending on experience Annual bonus 8% non-contributory pension 28 days’ holiday plus bank holidays Option to buy or sell an additional week of holiday Private healthcare Life insurance Enhanced parental leave Flexible working Learning, development and career progression opportunities A supportive, inclusive team environment The opportunity to work on meaningful, technically challenging projects Location & Security Clearance The role is fully remote initially. Following successful security clearance, there may be a requirement to work 2–3 days per week onsite in Cheltenham in the future. Due to the nature of the work and the sectors supported, employment will be subject to successful completion of the relevant security screening and clearance process. Candidates must be eligible for BPSS / SC / DV clearance and meet the relevant UK Government residency and right-to-work requirements associated with the required level of clearance.
