Role Overview: We are looking for an exceptional Head of Analytics & Insights to lead analytics and insights across the business, including Product, Growth, Marketing, Content and Commercial. This role will define the analytics vision and operating model for the company, ensuring data and insights shape strategic decisions, improve performance and accelerate growth. You will lead and develop a team of analysts and analytics leaders, while acting as a strategic partner to leadership across the organisation. You will own the analytical frameworks that improve acquisition, engagement, retention and content performance. You will combine deep analytical expertise with strong commercial judgement to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions and drive measurable business impact. This role requires someone who can operate at both strategic and hands-on levels – equally comfortable shaping long-term analytics strategy, influencing Data Engineering and Data Science priorities, and rolling up their sleeves on complex business questions when needed. Success in this role requires strong leadership, exceptional problem-solving, a growth mindset, and experience building analytics functions in fast-moving, data-rich environments. We’re looking for someone who raises the quality bar, challenges assumptions, and uses data to drive step-change outcomes. You should be motivated by solving hard problems, moving fast, and building an analytics function that creates durable competitive advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Analytics strategy & Business impact: Define company-wide analytics vision, operating model and KPI architecture. Establish core metrics and decision frameworks that guide how the business operates. Ensure analytics consistently informs strategic and operational decisions across the business. Identify opportunities where data can create durable competitive advantage.
- Subscription, Growth & Product performance: Own analytical direction across acquisition, retention and engagement. Drive understanding of subscription economics (LTV, CAC, churn). Enable Growth, Marketing and Product teams to improve performance through data and experimentation. Focus the organisation on the highest-impact opportunities across funnels and user behaviour.
- Content & Commercial allocation: Define frameworks that improve content investment decisions and portfolio performance. Improve ROI visibility and forecasting in partnership with Commercial and Finance. Drive better capital allocation across content, customers and markets. Ensure data informs investment, scaling and prioritisation decisions. Define operating principles for experimentation, measurement and decision quality. Raise standards for testing and causal inference to improve decision confidence. Increase organisational maturity in predictive, diagnostic and prescriptive analytics. Embed experimentation as the default mechanism for learning and prioritisation.
- Cross-functional data leadership: Partner with Data Engineering to influence data models, instrumentation and analytics infrastructure priorities. Collaborate with Data Science to identify and prioritise high-impact modelling and applied data science opportunities. Translate ambiguous business problems into scalable analytical solutions. Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, challenging assumptions and shaping decisions.
- Leadership: Lead and develop a team of analytics leaders and analysts. Set direction, raise performance standards and improve output quality across the function. Build strong analytical leadership capability within the team. Create a high-ownership, high-rigor culture focused on business impact.
Qualifications:
- Significant experience in analytics, insights, including roles in high-growth digital businesses.
- Proven experience leading analytics in a subscription-based business.
- Experience managing managers and scaling teams.
- Strong track record of using analytics to drive measurable business growth and commercial impact.
- Experience partnering closely with Product, Growth, Marketing and Commercial leaders.
- Experience influencing Data Engineering and Data Science roadmaps.
- Deep expertise in product, growth and commercial analytics.
- Strong experience with experimentation, funnel analysis, segmentation, forecasting and statistical methods.
- Expertise in subscription metrics including retention, churn, and LTV.
- Strong understanding of modern analytics tooling, data ecosystems and BI environments.
- Ability to move comfortably between strategic problem-solving and hands-on analytical work.
- Strong people leadership with experience developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent judgement in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- High degree of ownership, curiosity and bias toward action.
- Ability to influence without authority and build credibility across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex analysis into clear business recommendations.
