We’re looking for an experienced Game Designer to help evolve our learning games across iOS, Android, and Web.In this role, you’ll design engaging, user-centric game experiences that inspire learners, support educators, and drive meaningful growth across our digital platforms .
Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:
Design engaging educational game experiences:Conceptualise and design interactive learning games that blend fun with pedagogy. Develop game mechanics and narratives that align with educational goals and fostering player engagement.
Prototype and iterate game concepts:Create storyboards, gameplay flows, prototypes, and illustrate all game assets.Test and refine game mechanics and user interactions to ensure they are intuitive, challenging, and rewarding for learners.
Leverage player insights: Collaborate with UXR and customer insights teams to gather user feedback from educators and learners . Translate research findings into actionable improvements to gameplay, mechanics, and user experience.
Cross-functional collaboration:Work closely with animators, developers, product managers, educators, and Product Design teams to bring game concepts to life . Ensure alignment across educational objectives, design, and technical feasibility.
Maintain and enhance existing games:Monitor the performance and engagement metrics of released games, identifying opportunities for updates and improvements across both web and mobile platforms.
Contribute to a game design system: Help establish game design standards and best practices, ensuring consistency, supporting a cohesive user experience across platforms .
End-to-end game development: Be involved in every stage of game development—from ideation and prototyping through production, testing, release, and post-launch iterations—ensuring high-quality, impactful game experiences.

Have strong illustration skills:You will need to be able to either create characters and scenes completely from scratch or work within given style guidelines and follow a brief.

The animation team: illustrators, animators, and 3D/motion graphics specialists
The technology team: product, engineering, design, UXR, data

We\'re interested in people that have:
Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, Illustration, Computer Arts, or a related field.
2+ years of experience designing games. A focus on educational games, serious games, or interactive learning experiences (across web and mobile platforms) is a plus.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Familiarity with game design tools such as Unity, Godot, or similar platforms.
A portfolio showcasing game design work, including concept development, game mechanics, and user testing insights.
Strong understanding of game design theory, player engagement strategies, and UX principles.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive game design practices.
