Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Core hours 10:00am-2:00pm Monday-Friday)
We’re here to help those who teach. At Twinkl, we’ve been providing educators across the world with high quality, trusted teaching and learning resources for over a decade now. The digital product team is dedicated to creating innovative and engaging digital experiences for children and educators.
The role involves:
- Helping plan for animations: Writing scripts and storyboarding storylines ahead of starting animation work.
- Creating high-quality 2D animations: Working across the entire animation pipeline on various types of animations, including short narrative animations, explainer animations, and in-app animations.
- Collaborating cross-functionally: Working closely with illustrators, audio engineers, game designers, and product managers.
- Leading complex rigging and asset preparation: Taking ownership of advanced 2D character and asset rigging.
- Managing time effectively: Accurately estimating tasks, keeping to deadlines, and flagging blockers early.
- Contributing to continuous improvement: Sharing learnings with peers and being open to learning new tools or techniques.
To succeed in the role, you will:
- Be a strong visual storyteller, communicating abstract or educational ideas clearly through motion.
- Be at ease with illustration, capable of creating or editing assets based on existing visual guidelines.
- Be detail-oriented, paying attention to timing, spacing, and character when animating.
- Be open to feedback, collaborative, and receptive to guidance from senior team members.
- Be a good communicator, clearly explaining ideas and keeping others informed about progress.
- Be technically fluent, understanding the production pipeline and working within technical constraints.
We’re interested in people that have:
- 2–4 years of professional experience in 2D animation, motion graphics, or related fields.
- Proficiency with Moho, Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- A solid understanding of animation principles and timing.
- Experience collaborating within a creative team and following a shared style.
- A portfolio showcasing a range of animation work, ideally with some educational or child-focused content.
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced 2D rigging, character set-up, and pipeline optimization.
Bonus: Experience with Lottie or educational content creation.
