Reports To: Managing Director
We're looking for someone who loves people as much as they love a well-organised pipeline. This isn't a hard-sell role; it's about building genuine rapport with educators and making every single one feel like they're the only school we're working with. As a key member of our New Schools Team, you'll take event leads and warm enquiries and guide them through the Educake journey. Every touch point is important – from the first conversation all the way through to subscription and beyond. We play the long game here. We want educators to feel genuinely supported, to see real value in what we offer, and to become advocates for Educake within their schools and trusts.
Why This Role Is Important
Sales are central to our strategy. We're growing, and this role is at the heart of that growth. We grow the right way, which we believe is through trust, through genuine conversations, and through making educators' lives easier. The person in this role will often be the first impression many schools get of Educake. Every email, demo, and follow-up call is a chance to show an educator that we genuinely care about their challenges and that we're here to help – not just to sell.
A Busy Role — In the Best Possible Way
This role is full-on and busy. Right now, we’re actively managing 335 different subject trials across schools, whilst simultaneously identifying and nurturing new opportunities. It requires someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment. You’ll need to build your own processes and ways of working that let you stay on top of every lead, trial, and follow-up without things slipping. We’ll support you with HubSpot and best practices, but the ability to think on your feet, create sensible systems, and stay agile while keeping every interaction meaningful is absolutely essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Demos
- Post-Demo Follow-Up
- Event Lead Engagement
- Lead Qualification & Nurturing
- Collaboration with Account Managers
- Cross-Team Collaboration
- Pipeline & CRM Management
Skills & Attributes
- Builds relationships naturally and makes people feel genuinely heard and valued
- Is meticulously organised, juggling multiple leads without dropping a single one
- Has excellent attention to detail: clear notes, tidy CRM, timely follow-ups
- Communicates warmly and clearly, whether in writing, on a call or in person
- Takes a consultative approach – asks great questions and listens before recommending
- Is a strong team player who keeps colleagues informed and works collaboratively
- Is adaptable and proactive – finds solutions rather than problems
- Has a genuine interest in education and in making a difference for teachers and students
- Thrives on variety and can switch between tasks without losing momentum or detail
What Great Looks Like in This Role
The best person will make every educator feel like they're the only school we're supporting. They will use their brilliant organisation to remember key details, such as the teacher who mentioned their Year 10s are struggling, the HoD who said they'd review the budget in January. They'll follow up at exactly the right moment, with exactly the right message. They’ll keep HubSpot immaculate: every lead tagged correctly, every call logged and every next step in the diary. The pipeline will tell a clear story at any given moment. They’ll love what we do and why we do it – and that passion will come through in every interaction.
This is a hybrid working role based in Oxford. You will be required to work a minimum of one day per week from our office. Office address: Educake Ltd, Office 1, New Barclay House, 234 Botley Rd, Oxford OX2 0HP.
