What is a Sensory Panellist?
Our sensory panellists are an integral part in safeguarding our brand and designing exciting new products that exceed the expectations of our customers.

You will taste, describe, and provide data on different beverage products, using a clearly defined vocabulary, applying consistency to results provided and collaborating with other panellists.

Our products are diverse and exciting – but include caffeinated, sweetened and sugar-content, so if any of these aren’t your cup of tea, the role is likely not for you.

Please note: This role is part time – Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9.30am-1.30pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taste and evaluate a range of beverage products (relating to taste, appearance, texture, and smell) using a clearly defined vocabulary both individually and within a team
  • Collaborate and communicate clearly with other panellists and panel leader, identifying and describing sensory characteristics
  • Participate in product and sensory attribute training and assessments
  • Willingness to taste and try new flavours and inventive products

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • No experience necessary
  • Strong vocabulary & basic numeracy skills
  • Thrives working as part of a team, enjoys engaging and motivating others.
  • Ability to work independently and be fully focused during product assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills, articulate and able to describe taste experiences and sensations in good detail.
  • Willingness to learn and cement learnings to build own mastery.
  • Adheres to standard operating practices
  • Good attention to detail especially when it comes to sensory attributes
  • A firm grasp of the English language

Other Requirements
Giving the tasting nature of the role and reliance on great taste / smell in particular, if successful our panelists follow some key guidelines, such as;

  • Eating & Drinking: Please do not eat or drink (except water) for 1 hour before attending the interview (this includes chewing gum) or a shift (if successful)
  • Perfumes, aftershaves, hairspray: Please do not wear any fragranced products like perfumes, moisturisers, hand creams, etc.
  • Lipstick: Please do not wear it as it will hinder your perception of mouthfeel
  • Strong flavours: Avoid lots of strong flavours (garlic, chili, …) the night before the interview or work (if successful)
  • Smoking: Please do not smoke or vape for at least 1 hour before the interview / shift
  • Phones: on silent during the interview and shifts.

If shortlisted, our Assessment days will be running on 9, 10 and 11 September, with an ideal start date of 23/9.
