The Quality & Taste Specialist works as part of a small, close knit team adopting a flexible, agile and collaborative approach preparing samples of tea, herbs, fruits, flavours and coffee for organoleptic and technical assessment by the Tea, Herb and Flavour Buyer Blenders.

Please note that we have 2 vacancies:

  • Full-time (mon-fri, full hours)
  • Part-time (thur-fri, full hours)

Key Responsibilities

  • Categorise tea, herb, fruit and flavour samples received daily into the department and record on internal data management systems.
  • Perform quality measurements, such as moisture content, density and sieve analysis using specialised laboratory equipment and associated data entry, as well as establishing conformance to specifications.
  • Organise sample testing through the input of data to generate pesticide, moisture, micro, heavy metals on our LIMS system.
  • Utilise SAP system to identify raw material locations and extract necessary data for identification of correct sample.
  • Prepare and taste all new/gold standard flavours as required. Record results on SAP and Teams.
  • Clear communication to all relevant departments, including procurement, blending and quality teams.
